I was at a concert put on by our college. Four of my classmates sang this song… I was deeply moved and listened to “Evergreen” on repeat for the next few days. Liss then asked me what kind of music I was into at the time, and of course I showed her the song by Yebba. That’s how the idea was born…
“Evergreen” touched me so deeply because of the pain that’s poetically woven into the lyrics:
Oh, I can´t see
the forest for the trees
Oh, I feel so
hopeless against the stream
So will you wait for me,
my evergreen?
What do these words mean to you?
Aside from the lyrics, the melody and the groove are, of course, beautiful as well, and Liss has artfully woven them into an arrangement for us. I got to play bass and percussion again, which is especially fun in this arrangement because it pushes me and was a challenge in terms of coordination at first 🙂
All in all, “Evergreen” is a very special, one-of-a-kind piece for me! Can´t wait to show it to you!
