Do you know that feeling when you’ve been imagining something for a long time, picturing how great it would be if it finally happened – and then, suddenly, it does? Let’s do it!
In July 2025, we finally decided to take our music to Hungary in the autumn and combine the tour with a short holiday together in my hometown.
I didn’t have much time to organize the concerts, though. After countless phone calls and emails, and by reconnecting with old acquaintances and making new contacts through them, we eventually managed to arrange our first concert in Budapest at Café Zsivágó. It’s one of those places where walking through the door doesn’t just take you inside, but also a little bit back in time. The café has a wonderful vintage atmosphere that makes it truly special.
We met many lovely people there, had a few technical issues, of course, and even ended up being featured in a short film about us – thanks to Csabi, whom we had only met that day and who happened to have his camera with him and felt like filming.
From Budapest, we continued to Kecskemét, where we performed at the Cifrapalota. The building is famous as one of the most original masterpieces of Hungarian Art Nouveau architecture, known as Szecesszió. It was a beautiful concert hall with fantastic acoustics – and we were even invited back for next year!
Our third concert took us to Szeged – to my alma mater and my hometown. When I moved to Dresden in 2019, I left a part of my heart behind there. (And yes, that’s exactly where the goulash comes from!)
It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces in the audience – friends, family, and teachers – as well as, of course, many people we had never met before. The hall was full, the atmosphere was incredibly warm, and we had a great time sharing our music with everyone.
So, in a nutshell, that was my little recap of this wonderful week in Hungary. And I’m sure this won’t be our last tour there. We’re looking forward to visiting many more cities in the future and bringing our music with us!
